The British boxer prepares to battle the American YouTuber in an eight round fight which will be streamed in real-time on Netflix.
British boxer Anthony Joshua declared he will "dominate completely" Jake Paul and "defeat" his opponent as the pair confronted each other to build hype for the upcoming heavyweight fight.
Former two-time world boxing king Anthony Joshua meets social media star turned fighter Paul - in what is, theoretically, a mammoth disparity - at Miami's arena on December 19th.
Fighter's Attitude
"I will break his face and hurt his body. I aim to demonstrate I'm superior," Joshua, 35 years old, stated.
"I plan to overwhelm him. That's a fighter's mentality.
"I'm going to seriously aim to injure him. That's what I want to do."
Respectful Exchange
In spite of those words, a calm Joshua and social media star Jake Paul - usually recognized for his dramatics - exchanged pleasantries and kept it respectful with each other.
Jake Paul rather criticized ex Joshua's rival the Cameroonian fighter and called him "ridiculous" after Ngannou rejected a match opportunity.
Targeting Tyson Fury
Joshua, meanwhile, criticized UK opponent Tyson Fury - and rejected a million-pound wager 'Tyson Fury' states he will put on a victory for Paul.
"[Paul] is better than Tyson Fury - he's actually sitting here," the boxer stated.
"I give him credit for that."
Legitimate Opponent
In spite of saying he intends to punish Paul, Joshua refused to talk badly about his rival's fighting skills.
"Jake Paul is a legitimate boxer," he stated.
Paul's History
Jake Paul - who originally gained popularity on the Disney Channel - has mostly fought mixed martial artists or past-their-prime fighters since entering professional boxing.
He lost to British fighter Tommy Fury in 2023.
Financial Success
However, the inexperienced fighter remains one of the sport's greatest commercial attractions, regularly earning huge financial rewards.
Forecast and Confidence
The 28 year old anticipated a stoppage in rounds four or five and asserted he would derail the highly-expected Joshua–Fury fight, which is reportedly in the works for 2026.
"The next fight will be my match with Fury next year," Paul declared.
Size Difference
As Joshua and Paul met for the customary stare-down, with their size difference evident, it highlighted just how improbable this entire matchup is - and how amazing it is that the fight is actually happening.
